Do I need help for my children? Ghosts/trapped spirits
Hello. (sorry for the long post)
I have always been a believer in ghosts and have seen a number of them in my time, some good like my grandmother who died a month before I was born but came back to see me and some bad like a ghost who chucked something at me at my friends very old house (which used to be a public house next to a graveyard). Anyway onto my problem.
I now have two children, my little girl is 7 years old and my boy is 4 years old. My little girl has been very scared of staying by herself in any room and especially at night, I put this down to normal kids stuff, but I dont think this is the case now. For a while she has been saying she is seeing 'Hyenas' or dogs and one time she said one was staring at her from the other room, and she could feel them inside her, I couldn't see anything but she was petrified, she has also been saying that she is seeing a person in our house (Its not a very old house, probably 1930's-1950s build in Colchester, Essex) and saying they come into her room at night.
Because of this she refused to sleep in her room and we moved her into my boys room and we moved my boy into her room. Although at the time he couldn't talk properly he became scared of staying in the room too so we ended up buying a bunk bed and they both went in the other room. The problem is that now they are adiment this person is coming into their room at nights and I am sure I have seen something moving across their doorway when up reading at night and once in a mirror that looks into the hall by their room, I also heard my name being said very clearly when no one else was in the house and my dog started barking quite mad, which is odd as he rarely barks.
Last night my little boy woke and I heard him calling so I went in and I have never seen anyone so scared in my life, I thought I may have to call a doctor he was that bad, he sat in his bunk and stared past me, with a look of utter fear, into the doorway and started edging back as far as he could, I told him to come close for a hug but he would not move, and jkust kept saying No I need someone and started crying and looking again then crying again, eventually he came to me but would not look anywhere and just wanted to hold me. The only other time I have seen him remotely like this was when we were upstairs and he was down stairs, he came belting up the stairs saying he had just seen a mans face in the kitchen and started crying and wouldn't go back down stairs. Anyway i asked him thismorning what it was all about and if it was a bad dream, he said no he kept seeing a shadow in the door that was scaring him.
I am certain my little girl can see ghosts as my sisters home is known to have a ghost seen by a few people before, my little girl was over there and suddenly said to my sister, "who was that man in the long black coat", when my sister asked where, she replied "he just went from the stairs into the bathroom", when asked a bit more she said he had long hair and a beard, this is the exact same thing that has been seen before, but my little girl could not have known, I was told way back before she was born and had forgotton.
Now I know all of this may sound a little mad and I personally think that if there is a ghost it can only be friendly as we have lived here for 6 years without problems but whether it is or not my children are very scared.
So back to the reason I am posting, what can I do to
1:Either get rid of this/these ghosts in the house or
2: find out if i do have them for sure.
I need this to end for their health.

Hello,
It sounds like you have a visitor. A ghost does not have to be associated with the house. Sometimes they just walk in. I am a sensitive and have children (they are grown now) who have witnessed some strange things growing up.
But, never did they cry or have extreme fear at a young age. That is not good. It is not your children's doing, apparently that is the vibes the spirit is giving. If you are near a Spiritualist Church seek advice or have a house blessing by a Spiritualist Minister. The Minister may be able to help it ascend. Then everyone would be happy wouldn't they?
If your children do not want to sleep in the room, do not make them. Try to make light of the situation if possible. Do not encourage the spirit to communicate with you. When you hear it, ignore it. Do not use an Ouiji board.
I speak from experience. Not all spirits are nice. Your childrens reactions are true....
This one is an example of a happy haunting. On Easter morning at 5:00 am in a house we lived in located in upstate NY (which was visited regularly by the former original owners who were wonderful in spirit) my son swore he saw the Easter Bunny wishing him Happy Easter as a 6 foot tall Easter Bunny!
In another house I owned, my other son at 7 years of age saw a 3 foot tall hairy thing who tore down his Christmas Decorations in his room. He was hysterical and in fact his strings of ornaments were destroyed, and frankly I believed him, and explained to him that he saw what he saw, but not to be afraid as it was only playing and meant no harm. He wasn't afraid, just shocked and angered at what happened to his ornaments. Frankly, I didn't feel any manevolence either.
Then I bought a house that had a spirit that was manevolent. It called my son by name from the other room, so he would hear it....appeared as a shadow, appeared as an old hag in the mirror, water would appear from no where, my dog went blind and developed cancer, my son and his girlfriend had two auto accidents and while repairing a car my son was almost killed, my daughter's friends refused to come over as they would actually hear crashing noises coming from other parts of the house, footsteps by unseen feet would shuffle in back of them, orbs would fly by my daughters head, my dog from day one would not step foot in the basement apartment my son lived in. I heard the crash of objects, doors slamming, footsteps behind me all of that. All of us in the whole house would wake up at either 3:33 or 2:22 every night like clock work. It was bizaar. I asked my neighbors, but they said the house was a rental, and that there were unstable people living there at one time, but no murders or anything like that. They also said that within a 2 block radius 3-4 houses had been exorcized. So, one day I sat down and made a list. Then I sold the house.
I don't mean to scare you. But, when you spoke of hearing your name and such it really smacks of an earthbound, and when children are involved you are talking about something affecting their whole world and thats a big red flag!

hi gary, i had the same sort of things going on but it was affecting my heavily pregnant daughter and my husband, i went to a local spiritual center and asked for there help, i had 4 ladies come to my house and what a difference, it was totally transformed, i think the same as victoria you should seek help from your local center or church, i will ask for protection and love and light to surround you, your family and your home, love and light cherie xx

Hi Gary, it's interesting that you say you've lived in the house for six years without incident and now this is happening... have there been any changes to the structure of the house lately or old furniture brought in from somewhere else? I ask this because spirits who are attached to their old homes often become agitated when repairs or changes are made to 'their' home. Also, sometimes things bought in auctions or charity shops have attached 'remnants'. One thing I would do immediately is take down the mirror outside the childrens' room - if nothing else, it takes away something which has bad associations for them.
I also feel that placing some crystals at either side of the door to their room would help keep anything at bay for the time being. The crystals would also help lift the overall energy in that area. When you go to select the crystals, fix the intended purpose for them in your mind and get the ones you are most drawn to. Meanwhile, see if you can have an experienced person along to check the place out and suggest a way forward. It may be a simple case of a house cleansing, it may need something more... but it sounds as if you need someone on the spot to have a look.
Hope this helps... I will ask my spirit friends if they can help in any way.

Thanks for your replies. I didn't make myself quite clear when I said about being in the house with out problems for six years I missed out 'Bad' before 'happening'. My little girl actually started off with seeing things in the house about two and half years ago and me being me just thought she was being silly and didn't think anything of it until recently.
Tonight, well about 1hr ago my little boy woke up again so I went upstairs and he was exactly the same as before, eyes wide open but not really looking at me but past me into the doorway, saying he saw someone, then he went silent and started touching my face and eyes, mouth, arms etc much the same as a blind person would to "feel" what you look like, its almost as if he doesn't know who I am, I hope something horrible or even not horrible is not channeling through him and seeing me through his eyes, if that possible, just a thought. Anyway I bought him down in the end and put the football on which bought him out of this state and within minutes he was back to normal.
Nothing has changed with the house, we rent it so nothing can really change. We havent bought anything new either. One thing I do have is many old watches from about 1900-1950 as I work from home mending and dealing in them, more arrive each day, I am sure many of these hold sentiments for their original owners, especially as they survived through wars etc, could anything like this cause problems maybe? Not that I could do anything about it as it is my business and means of income.
I am trying to find someone who knows what they are doing in Colchester, Essex (UK) but dont really know where to start. Especially as my wife and children are practicing Catholics, the wife has opened her mind up to these things though. She wants to get a priest, I want a medium/spiritualist.

Thanks for clarifying that... poor little lad... Your best bet is the local spiritualist church... try a local directory or some advertise end of month in local paper listings. A priest might upset the spirit, especially if they think they are being exorcised. Your watches could well be the cause... not trying to make u feel guilty or anything. There could well have been spirits around but kiddies of these ages tend to pick up on spirit before adults do.

Thank you, I searched everwhere and couldn't find that. I have now though and found their website also. I will contact them and see if they can help. I am a bit new to all of this and find it a little odd as although Christened, I myself have no religious beliefs, only thoughts on religion, unlike my wife, who has strong Catholic beliefs, totally different to my "thoughts" about it all, I firmly believe in spirits and entities, all a little confusing!

I just thought I should mention that when a exorcism is performed on a house the Spirits are sent to Limbo. Its a pretty serious matter. A house blessing is different. If you confide to a Catholic Priest and he believes you, I think the house has to have certain criteria before an exorcism takes place as it involves sending a Spirit where it can never ascend and there had better be a good reason for that, as it bears a grave responsiblity. A Catholic Priest can do a house blessing though. But, if the Spirit is mad or something, it could irritate it furthur as it offers no solution to its problem.

Why do you think that the spirit/spirits are sent into limbo.
My experience has been that they have found peace and moved on towards the light.
Whatever barrier has held them back has been removed for them to progress.

There is a clearing or rescue that sends a spirit into the light if they (the spirit) choose to go. I used to think that the Catholic rite of exorciscm was just banishing a spirit to the Catholic belief in hell, but came to learn that it was actually limbo. Perhaps, I was told the wrong information, but I really don't think so.
All of that goes against my personal beliefs anyway, as I believe hell is a mindal place in which a conscience must be present to instill fear whether imagined or based in fact from actions of wrong doing (somewhere in the mind whether conscious or subconscious) in order for the hell to exist at all. That is where soul rescue comes in as sometimes a person feels guilt and pain from wrong doings in the past and considers themselves unredeemable, then they are shown the all encompassing light of God and ascend. I believe that when they are shown the true light of God, they realize God sees them as they are, as all that was hidden within oneself is shown. It is an all encompassing feeling of rebirth through the knowledge of the sum total of your essence as a spirit. A spirit whose home is with the creator and tthe knowledge that life as we understand it is actually only a small part of an eternity of existence in which we dwell.
What happens to those who hate God and humanity......those who dwell in darkness, who become the crime instead of the person who committed it......some believe the chaotic mass of blackness eventually dies as there is nothing left.........
That's my two cents worth for today! 99.9% of spirits are good, and that includes you and I.....Dont forget spirits are just people without their bodies on.

Hello Gary, there should be no more talk of ghosts in your life. This is one way to make them retreat. Give them no air time or attention. Leave a light in the children's room at night. Spirits are attracted to certain vulnerable people and children. Make sure the children have nothing in their lives that is frightening them, such as other children bullying them or family members who are not getting on. If there is something to frighten the children, make sure they can turn to you for security, comfort, peace and reassurance. Treat the spirit in a matter of fact way. If it doesn't go away on the first asking, make a post again here for a second asking. Wendy

Well done Wendy so glad someone has come out with something to calm down the situation. I can imagine its scary but often was it needed is some good old common sense. Children have imazing imaginations that are easily fuelled, I remember as a child frightening my parents with my visions.
